Week 17 – Breezing towards the goal-line

Howdy spectators!

Today is an interesting day. I weighed myself and checked my bodyfat percentage and (Tada!), I lost weight again! I lost another kilogram this week. That’s 2.2 pounds for the metrically challenged, and a total of 13.1 kilograms, or 28.8 pounds of weight loss over the last 17 weeks.

I revised my goal a couple of weeks ago. My original goal was to achieve a weight of 95 kilograms. That meant I had to lose 16 kilograms. I’ve lost 13, and I’ve reassessed my weight and body fat percentage. I also changed my measuring stick. I decided I’m going to shoot for 15% body fat instead of some arbitrary weight. When I did the calculations, it worked out that I need to be 90 kilograms to achieve 15% body fat, and that’s if I don’t put any muscle on. So my new goal is 15% body fat with a total body weight of 90 kilograms.

Then I’ll reassess again.

I have to tell you, I’m kind of excited about the fact that I’ve found something that actually does what it promises. Who would have thought that I’d be eating so much food (in fact, I probably eat 2-3 times what I used to eat) and be removing the fat from my body in such a healthy way. I always used to think that you had to starve to lose weight. In fact, the most successful weight loss I had before this was when I went to hospital for five days with a stomach infection and lost 9 kilos. Of course, I put it all back on, and then some!

This time, the weight is staying off. I can’t tell you how good that feels.

OK. my current weight is 97.7 Kilograms ( 214.7 lbs) and I have 19.6% Body fat. It was a real boost to break through the 20% mark. 15% is now really reachable, and I know I’ll get there. It’s just a matter of time, discipline and trust.
